November is here with all of its pre-holiday splendor and chilly winds.
October was a busy month, filled with weddings, travel, and baby colds. I didn’t do much work travel as planned (doctor’s orders), so no marathon reading on planes like in September!
I read 3 books in October and enjoyed them! Here they are:
Tom Lake by Ann Patchett

I could have just read this book last month and I would have been completely fine. What an amazing story. It is captivating, heartwarming, funny, sad, and beautifully written. One of my top books of 2023!
The Near Witch by V.E. Schwab

I am a big V.E. Schwab fan, and I had to read one of her firsts during spooky season! This book was good — obviously not Schwab’s best work because it was one of her first, but I really enjoyed reading it. I love a good witch story!
Dream Work: Poems by Mary Oliver

Honestly? I’ve liked other poems better than what was in this collection. BUT … Mary Oliver is still my go-to poet. Always.
What did you read this month? Share in the comments.
Here’s what I’ve read so far in 2023:
June and July Wrap-Up (Didn’t finish a book in May!)
