Happy September!

I had a very silly month where I didn’t finish many of the books that I picked up. I tried to read Katie Couric’s memoir Going There, but it’s very long, so I am slowly chugging through that. I also tried to read Kate Morton’s Homecoming, and I just couldn’t keep interest.

I did read two books this month. One was a reread and the other was a book on my backlist. I am trying to get through many of the books on my bookshelf that I haven’t read yet … so if my books for the rest of the year look random and all over the place, then so be it. I am excited to read through my backlist!

Here’s what I read in August:

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas

Well, this was a fun reread. After being bogged down by two slow-moving books, I decided to pick up an old favorite to help me get back on track. I read this in about 4 days and it certainly worked! Such an entertaining read!

There There by Tommy Orange

Like I mentioned, really glad I am reading through my backlist … and kicking myself for not picking this up earlier. This is definitely one of my favorite books that I’ve read so far this year. Well-written with a cast of interesting characters who share their innermost thoughts and struggles. Definitely a heartbreaking story with an unsettling ending. Lots of triggers, so please be cautious going in.

What did you read this month?

Here’s what I read so far in 2023!
