Happy happy spring! The weather has been a little funky in Connecticut, but it looks like warm weather is on the horizon.
We are enjoying this season with our girl — lots of walks, swings, parks, and bubbles! April was a fun month. We had some weird 90-degree weather, and I loved witnessing our plants bloom and blossom over the past few weeks.
In mid-April, I went to Portland for a work trip but extended my visit to see my very best friend who moved out there a couple of years ago (blog coming soon). I really liked Portland! What I enjoyed about Portland is that it had a lot of fun neighborhoods to poke around in. The downtown was OK, sleepier than I thought it would be, but where the city shines is throughout the side neighborhoods where you forget that you are in a city!
In late April, I went to Atlanta for another work trip, and that experience was a little chaotic. While there were cute parts of Atlanta, I don’t feel the desire to return (even though I think my client will be going back in the fall).
I read 5 books in April, and I really only enjoyed the poetry!
- Let’s Pretend This Never Happened: A Mostly True Memoir by Jenny Lawson
- Maame by Jessica George
- Find Your Unicorn Space: Reclaim Your Creative Life in a Too-Busy World by Eve Rodsky
- Blue Horses: Poems by Mary Oliver
- Please Love Me at My Worst (Poems) by Michaela Angemeer
What I’m up to this month
This month I have a few family events, birthday parties for cutie one-year-olds, a bridal shower, and a trip to Charlotte for another work event!
My goal this month is to take every day as it comes, move my body, and stick with my creative goals (unicorn space, as Eve calls it)!
Aaaaand we have a name: We’re Talkin’ Postpartum. It took a few weeks, but I came up with a name and I’m working with a friend on logo and branding. My first interview is next week, and I am working on writing my own podcast episode where I share my story and why I am doing a podcast! Eep!
Wait what is “Poemspartum”?
Glad you asked. I also started my first book of poetry called “Poemspartum” and I will be reading a poem at the beginning of each episode! I can’t wait to finish and publish this bad boy. I will start to write them on the blog. To read them, look under the new tab, “Poemspartum” 🙂
